Why I close paytm postpaid in 2026 January 1, 2026 by Editor Staff

paytm postpaid

I recently paid a Paytm postpaid bill of Rs.1043.71 on January 1, 2026, after spending Rs.999 the previous month in December. Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SSFB), an NBFC lender, provided me with a credit line of Rs.1000 for UPI use. I could spend this credit for 30 days at any UPI merchant, subject to a 3% convenience fee. So, why did I decide to close my account? This question will be answered, along will how this instant unsecured loan can trap you.

This decision is not only for high charges getting by paytm postpaid and lender but it is for inconvienance to use this credits as the trap to automatic payments by both parties. most of the customers claims thats this is the worst support by paytm itself.

The decision is due not only to the hefty fees collected by Paytm Postpaid and lenders, but also to the inconvenience of using this credit, since both parties put you in a automatic paymentstrap. Most customers say this is the worst Paytm assistance they’ve experienced and ask why autopay necessary when manual payment is offered.

They now have an update on Tuesday, 30 December 2025 that Paytm postpaid late fees will be imposed from the 15th of each month, which means you will be charged Rs.250-750 after using your credits after 15 days. In short, they reduced your billing period from 30 to 15 days.

Is it not a good idea to consider how their major changes would affect customers?

I’ve already backed out because I think this is an attempt to impose high fees on customers while making substantial revenue, which is directly impacting the customers.

Why should I deactivate my Paytm Postpaid in 2026

  • The first reason is their raising high charges (3% convenience + Rs.750 late fees + Rs.50 bounce fee).
  • Paytm Postpaid credit line can have a significant influence on credit score due to poor support by SSFB lender.
  • No Support from Paytm
  • Credit lines are not accepted for all merchant accounts.
  • 15 days billing cycle from 1 Janaury 2026.
  • Customers have no control over AutoPay, which is also authorized by the SSFB.
  • Poor Customer Support
  • Too much notifications and reminders
  • Worst Recovery Department and Automated calls
