AudioRelay is a tool that streams audio between devices over Wi-Fi local network server. It allows you to send audio from your computer to your mobile phone, and to send mobile audio to your computer. It operates with very low latency and delivers best sound quality. It is available for Windows, Andoird, Linux, and macOS.
In today’s article, we’ll connect our Linux Mint OS computer system to our Android phone with PulseAudio setup and see how we can hear our computer audio via mobile’s speakers. We’ll also connect BM800 condenser microphone to our computer and hear mic audio as well.
This is a very easy way to send computer audio to mobile speakers without buying any extra speakers, which I have been using for many years.
How to Install And Use AudioRelay to send audio

We’ll learn how to install the AudioRelay software on your computer and connect it to your mobile.
- First, you need to install the software from its official website.
- Then, download the AudioRelay application from the Play Store on your Android phone.
- open audio relay and your PC it will show you the IP address in the right hand side
- now open audio relay in your mobile phone and click on your PC name
- Once you selected your PC name you will get some data and your application along with its latency rates
- Now go to your PC audio relay you can see your phone name and volume bar to control the volume.
- now your phone and computer is successfully connected to send its audio play anything in your PC to test it
In this case we are using Linux so when it to add some virtual audio device to play our audio along with our mic if you have, we have BM800 condenser microphone connected to the computer so we are going to add this microphone and as we don’t have any speakers in our computer connected so we want to listen our mic output with audio relay.
First of all you need to connect your mobile and computer as we mention earlier you can follow this simple steps connect your microphone voice and output sound with audiorelay.
Install pulseaudio volume control and your Linux machine to control your input and output with more functionality. If you are using Windows OS and you don’t need to install any third party software. in my case we are going to install pulseaudio volume control from software manager or terminal.
sudo apt install pulseaudio volume control
Once you connected your PC and mobile with audiorelay and installed PulseAudio volume control, you must enter this to commands in your terminal to create visual audio device.
Create Virtual Audio Device in PC
pactl load-module module-null-sink sink_name=audiorelay-speakers
sink_properties=device.description=AudioRelay-Speakers
this two lines will create virtual audio device to send your computer audio to your mobile phone, you can see in this image below

For Better Quality, Select “Pro Audio” profile from Built in Audo Configration.

Here is mine settings for good audio with audiorelay software.

After that you need to select your audio device to get output into your mobile phone speakers. so you need to select your “virtual audio device” in Audio Device to listen your output sound from the computer.

When you don’t have any external speakers, you can use this method to listen to audio from your computer to your mobile device. Your smartphone can be used as an external speaker.
It’s not that you don’t have the money to purchase external speakers, however, if you don’t like extra speakers, Audiorelay is the tool for you. I usually listen to music and record audio from my PC to my mobile phone because it is more handy and takes up less space.
